Best quote I have heard in a while & it got me thinking about technology & how kids of this generation were born into a world of lightning fast moving tech. I remember being so amazed when the first Game Boy came out. I sat for hours and hours playing that original Mario game. This console was developed when I was a small boy, so I knew what life was like before it, and after it. I knew how impressive it was, because I had seen life before. Children born into this world are born into a life of handheld devices readily available and accessible. To them, technology is a part of everyday lives.
It also got me thinking of the calculator. I'm sure when the calculator was invented, people thought that it would ruin people's ability to solve math problems. They probably assumed that it was that generations way of being lazy and not having to work through the steps. But, as time went on, we all adapted to having calculators as part of our everyday lives, while still maintaining the ability to solve math problems by hand. This rant stems from that quote that Paul gave us in class...I'm not sure if it directly relates to Creative Design, but I think it's important to recognize that fighting the ever-changing technology is not worthwhile. We need to embrace the change & evolution that we go through everyday, and learn how to best utilize it in the classroom.
Lastly, I enjoyed doing the 'colors' activity...I felt like my color of Green was reflective of my personality. The description is below:
You have a GREEN (helper/supporter) personality. You like to improvise and you do not believe in getting tangled up with details. You are imaginative and creative, and you like to come up with innovative solutions to problems. You are good at reading other people's emotions, and you are supportive and loyal. You can be inclined to rest on your laurels, and you do not always challenge others when you should. However, your people skills will make you a popular and valuable colleague.
